The 80 Acres Climate Justice Cooperative School is an educational institution designed specifically for students in grades K-4. Our school focuses on instilling early environmental stewardship and an understanding of climate justice, interwoven with principles of racial justice.
Through a cooperative learning model, students engage in hands-on, project-based activities that teach them about sustainable practices, the importance of biodiversity, and the effects of climate change, while also exploring how these issues intersect with social and racial equity.
The curriculum is designed to foster a deep connection with nature, encourage critical thinking, and empower students to take actionable steps towards environmental conservation and social justice from a young age. This holistic approach enhances their academic growth and nurtures a lifelong commitment to advocating for both the planet and equitable treatment for the Black and Brown communities most harmed by climate change.
